Materials list: Watercolor paper, white or light crayon, paint, paintbrush, salt, water, glue.

** I taped my paper to a piece of cardboard before painting. This keeps the paper from curling and makes it much easier to paint on. I decided to use only the blue paint and water it down to make  several shades. You can use any color you want or use more than one color for your snowy sky.

1. Using a white or light crayon, draw snowflakes on the watercolor paper.

2. Use a paper plate or plastic lid to mix a small amount of paint with water until it is very watery and easy to spread on the paper.   I painted the area I wanted the darkest color first and then used my paintbrush dipped in water to spread the color around the paper. You get to decide what works best for you.

3. Before your paint is dry, sprinkle salt across your painting. This will leave soft speckled areas to your picture.

4. Allow the painting to dry completely and then gently brush the salt off. You can glue the provided snowflake to your painting, make your own snowflakes to add, or leave it just how it is. Have fun!
