Digital Collection (Libby App)

What is Libby/new to Libby?

Libby is a digital audiobook, eBook and emagazine app created by Overdrive. Overdrive is the platform that has paired with state and local libraries to bring you this digital collection free of charge. Please note the legacy Overdrive app is being phased out and will no longer be functional by early 2023. We advise patrons to utilize or switch to the Libby app.

Where can I download the app?

The Libby app can be downloaded onto an Android or Apple device through the “App Store” or “Google Play.” You can also go to libbyapp.com to use with your web browser. If you’d like to skip the search on your phone, scan the QR code below to go directly to the app download.

Is this the same as the Overdrive app? Can I still use the Overdrive app?

The Overdrive app was the initial app developed for digital content. Overdrive then developed a much more user-friendly app, Libby. As of February 23, 2022 Overdrive will no longer be available to download as an app. Functionality and support of the Overdrive app will eventually stop as the switching process goes along. We highly recommend Overdrive users to switch to Libby.

What is my login information?

To login to Libby you first need to have an up to date library account at Blaisdell Memorial Library. Library accounts need to be renewed once every three years. Accounts that have not been renewed may not have access to our digital collection. The Libby app or browser version will prompt you for the library you use (Nottingham: Blaisdell Memorial Library), your library card number, and your pin. All new accounts will have the pin set as the 10 digit phone number you used as your primary contact number when first setting up your library account at Blaisdell Library. Older accounts may still use the 7 digit phone number if they are New Hampshire numbers. This is subject to change as the update process moves forward.

Can I use my Kindle with Libby?

The Libby app on your phone or the libbyapp.com webpage (either on a computer or directly on your Kindle) can both be utilized for Kindle reading. The Libby app on your phone will forward the book to your Kindle device once it has been set up. Check out this webpage for more a detailed guide on Kindle reading. The “Reading with Kindle” link goes over how to borrow titles and send it to your Kindle.
