Who Are the Friends of the Library?

The Friends of the Blaisdell Memorial Library are a non-profit group of volunteers dedicated to supporting the library. They are vital members of the community who are passionate about the library and all it has to offer Nottingham.

Our Mission

The goal of the Friends of the Library is to enhance library programs for all ages and encourage active library usage by everyone in the community.

What Does a Friend Do?

Through fundraising efforts such as the biannual book sale, Friends provide the library with the financial support needed to pursue programming opportunities and acquisitions beyond the scope of the library budget. The Friends of the Library provide support for things such as:

  • Museum Passes
  • Special programs for all ages
  • Supplies for children’s & adult programs
  • Maintaining the library grounds
  • Technological upgrades

Book Sales: The library does not accept donations of materials (books, DVDs, etc…) outside of our regular spring and fall book sale periods. Please check our book sale page for more information.

Little Free Libraries: The friends sponsor the creation and installation of little free libraries throughout Nottingham, giving access to free books to people throughout the community. Find your closest Little Free Library here!
