Drop-in Board Games

Thursday, July 24th from 2 – 4pm

Have you ever wanted to explore the world of complex board games, but not wanted to pay for something elaborate before you try? Today’s the day to visit the library! Join our staff to try out games that go beyond the standard Monopoly and Clue, perfect for adults and teens who want to dip their toes into the hobby!

This program is drop-in, any time during the event period. This program is open to all ages.

Drop-in Tabletop RPGs

Wednesday, July 23rd at 6pm

Explore the world of tabletop gaming! Whether you’re brand new to the hobby or have played before and are looking to meet some new players, all are welcome to this drop-in session! Try out some Tabletop Role-playing Games (TTRPG) and see the space you can borrow if you decide you want to try running your own game!

This program is aimed at patrons from pre-teen to adult.

Taste Test Challenge

Thursday, July 17th from 4 to 6pm

How honed are your taste buds? Come to the library to sample a variety of teas and cheeses. With everyone a mystery and only a list of the different cheeses, will you be able to identify which cheese is which?

This program is drop-in and open to all ages. Bring the whole family along!

Teen Open House

Wednesday, July 16th at 6pm

Do you have a child in middle school or early high school? Ever been curious about what the Blasidell Youth Group does, or what kind of activities the Middle School Club gets up to? Drop by our Teen Open House!

Try out new things, play some games, meet your fellow members, and share food and drink! All are welcome!

Musical Performance: The Black Fly Band

Saturday, July 12th from 10:30am to 12:30pm

The library’s Arts and Music Week concludes with a special live performance by local musicians The Black Fly Band. Join us for a morning of music at this indoor, air-conditioned concert! Admission is totally free and light refreshments will be served. This event is open to all ages and all attendees, library patrons or not!

SRP 25 Kickoff: Flying High Dogs

Tuesday, July 1st at 10am – Nottingham Rec Field

Start summer reading off with a bang! Join BML at the Parks & Rec field for an amazing agility show full of tricks and excitement, brought to you by Mike Piazza and the Border Collies of Flying High Dogs!

Afterwards, don’t forget to swing by the library to collect your Summer Reading logs, sign up for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, become a Library Hero, and enter special raffles!

July 4th Library Closure

Blaisdell Memorial Library will be closed on Friday, July 4th and Saturday, July 5th in observation of Independence Day weekend. The library will also be closing early on Thursday, July 3rd, at 5pm.

For any patrons considering using one of our library passes over the vacation, we strongly suggest placing your reservation as soon as possible so you can pick them up in advance.

1,000 Books Begins!

Kick-off starts June 26th

Get excited for the start of Blaisdell Memorial Library’s new thousand books program! Families of young children will be able to register to pick up reading logs and special gifts.

Sign-ups officially open with the Teddy Bear Sleepover, but aren’t limited to the event. Families will be able to join the program at any time going forward, including beyond summer reading.
