July 4th Library Closure

Blaisdell Memorial Library will be closed on Friday, July 4th and Saturday, July 5th in observation of Independence Day weekend. The library will also be closing early on Thursday, July 3rd, at 5pm.

For any patrons considering using one of our library passes over the vacation, we strongly suggest placing your reservation as soon as possible so you can pick them up in advance.

1,000 Books Begins!

Kick-off starts June 26th

Get excited for the start of Blaisdell Memorial Library’s new thousand books program! Families of young children will be able to register to pick up reading logs and special gifts.

Sign-ups officially open with the Teddy Bear Sleepover, but aren’t limited to the event. Families will be able to join the program at any time going forward, including beyond summer reading.

Afternoon Program Sign-ups

BML’s current programming session of story hours and afterschool clubs will be ending on Saturday, April 19th with our Family Story Hour. After this point, there will be a two week break for planning and April Vacation activities before the final spring session begins.

All sign-ups for our afterschool programs, including STEAM, Middle School, and Lego+ Club will be open from Tuesday, April 22nd until Saturday, April 26th. Parents or guardians should call or email the library to sign their children up during these days. We are unable to accept any names for future sessions after April 26th. We do not currently offer online sign-ups.

Our afterschool programs work using a lottery system rather than being first-come, first-serve: We prioritize any children on our waitlist from the previous session and then draw from all of our sign-ups received in the week, with remaining names being added to our next waitlist. We will contact all parents to let you know about your child’s status through the week of the 28th.

The coming spring session will be our final programming session before we reach Summer Reading.

Library Holiday Closures

Blaisdell Memorial Library will be having several closures over the next two weeks for the end-of-year holidays.

The library will be closed on Tuesday, December 24th and Wednesday, December 25th. We will reopen as per usual for the rest of the week, December 26th, 27th and 28th.

The library will also be closed on Tuesday, December 31st and Wednesday, January 1st. After this point, usual hours will resume.

Thank you for your understanding and have a happy holiday!

BML is Hosting Santa’s Mailbox

Santa’s Mailbox at BML

The Blaisdell Memorial Library is the inaugural host location for Santa’s Mailbox!

This year, Santa’s Mailbox will be conveniently located in the front room of the library.

Santa’s Mailbox is a community member-founded and supported holiday event. Starting on Tuesday, November 26th, children who would like to make their wishes known to Santa are invited to bring a letter to drop in the box. Parents—if your child is interested in a response, you must include a return address.

Santa’s Mailbox is a volunteer effort developed and supported by patrons of the library, and is not a Blaisdell Memorial Library program. Town employees are not involved in the collection of, or development of responses to, letters submitted to Santa.

Library Closure

Blaisdell Memorial Library will be closed on Friday, October 4th and Saturday, October 5th for renovations. The previously scheduled Friday Story Hour will be held at its usual time at the Nottingham Rec Center instead.

The library will reopen on Tuesday, October 8th with our collection returned to the shelves.

Thank you for your understanding.
