Blaisdell Memorial Library will be operating under holiday hours for the week of Thanksgiving. Please note the following changes and closures:
Blaisdell Memorial Library will be closed on Saturday, November 9th in observation of Veteran’s Day weekend.
The Family Story Hour that is usually scheduled for the second Saturday of the month has been rescheduled, and will be held on Saturday, November 16th instead.
Blaisdell Memorial Library will be closed this Saturday for a tree removal. We apologize for the inconvenience and look forward to reopening at our usual time on Tuesday, October 29th!
Blaisdell Memorial Library will be closed on Friday, October 4th and Saturday, October 5th for renovations. The previously scheduled Friday Story Hour will be held at its usual time at the Nottingham Rec Center instead.
The library will reopen on Tuesday, October 8th with our collection returned to the shelves.

Over the past two months, Blaisdell Memorial Library has undergone several major changes to our building, grounds, and layout. Some of this work has included necessary upgrades to our water and septic system, improvements and development of the library’s accessible garden, and changes to improve the flow of traffic through the building and the use of the space we have.
On Friday, September 27th and Saturday, September 28th, the library building will be closed to replace the building’s carpet. Unfortunately, part of this renovation requires that BML temporarily remove all library items from the building.
Over the next week, library staff and volunteers will be moving items into boxes for storage. This process means that many items will not be on shelves, and reserves may not be accessible to staff. We will do our best to locate any material you are looking for, but we expect that some items will be temporarily unavailable.
Any reserves or requests placed between 9/19 and 9/28 will be placed on hold until library materials are returned to the building in early October. If an item is in-library but unavailable at the time of your visit, we can place it on reserve for you. We can also place ILL requests for items that are temporarily inaccessible but please note that ILL shipments may take up to two weeks to arrive.
We understand that the library’s many recent closures have been inconvenient to our patrons, but hope that all major work will soon be completed, allowing us to focus on making the library a more welcoming, useful, and enjoyable experience to visit!

As previously announced, BML will be closed to the public through the third week of August for maintenance and cleaning. During this period of time, patrons will not be able to pick up reserves, check out books, place or pick up interlibrary loans, or request museum passes. This will not impact use of the Libby by Overdrive app.
You can view your checkouts, current reserves, and place some renew requests online by visiting the Blaisdell Catalog Website and logging in with your library card number and phone number.
In keeping with our usual policy, books that are due while the library is closed will not accrue any overdue fines if returned during this period.
The library will reopen with normal hours on Tuesday, August 27th.

Blaisdell Memorial Library will be closed on Saturday, July 27th due to vital well maintenance. The Field Day event being held at the Marston Property will not be impacted by this building closure.

Blaisdell Memorial Library will be closed on Saturday, May 25th in observation of Memorial Day weekend. Those wishing to use museum passes over the weekend will need to pick them up by the end of the day Friday.
As the Town is now working under the constraints of a default budget, the Blaisdell Memorial Library continues to operate on a reduced schedule, and will do so for the duration of 2024. At this time, we do not anticipate any additional negative impacts to the Summer Reading program, Lego or STEAM clubs, or our ongoing programming.
We will continue to assess our hours of operation. Patrons should be aware that we may need to cancel or reschedule programs, or adjust our operating hours, sometimes on short notice.
Scheduled closures will be posted on the sign in front of the library, our website, and on Facebook and Instagram. Last-minute closures will be posted on Facebook and the front door of the library.
