Roll up for a movie at BML! Children and families are encouraged to create their own cardboard “cars” at home out of spare boxes so that you can “drive” in for a viewing of Pixar’s Cars (2006). Snacks and drinks will be served!
Cars is rated G. The movie is approximately 2 hours long, but families are welcome to leave whenever they like. Please let the library know if you or a family member requires subtitles to enjoy the movie!
Do you have too many craft supplies kicking around that you no longer need? Or are you looking to get into a hobby, but don’t have what you need to start? BML’s Hobby Swap is an opportunity to trade supplies with your neighbors, whether you’re looking to clean out your stash or build it up larger!
During the drop-off period, you can bring craft and hobby supplies to the library, similar to the book sale donation period. The next week, all are welcome to browse the 2-day Swap and pick out whatever supplies and items you can use! All items will be free and you do not need to donate anything in order to pick items up from the swap. We simply ask that all swap visitors use their best judgement when deciding how many items to take home!
Before donating, please note the following guidelines: We ask that you donate no more than two boxes of supplies, and no more than one box of yarn. All supplies should be in good condition, with no mold, dust or stains. Please make sure that any craft sets or machines have all needed parts before donation. Please bring donations inside the library, during open hours. Any donations left outside or placed in our drop box may not being accepted.
Get into the sunshine and explore a BML favorite sport when you join Dan for Disc Golf at the Marston property! Beginners and families are welcome to learn how to play and explore this fantastic and fun sport.
Have you ever wanted to explore the world of complex board games, but not wanted to pay for something elaborate before you try? Today’s the day to visit the library! Join our staff to try out games that go beyond the standard Monopoly and Clue, perfect for adults and teens who want to dip their toes into the hobby!
This program is drop-in, any time during the event period. This program is open to all ages.
Explore the world of tabletop gaming! Whether you’re brand new to the hobby or have played before and are looking to meet some new players, all are welcome to this drop-in session! Try out some Tabletop Role-playing Games (TTRPG) and see the space you can borrow if you decide you want to try running your own game!
This program is aimed at patrons from pre-teen to adult.
If you’ve ever been curious about getting started as a beekeeper, this is the talk for you! Learn what it takes to keep your own hives and get started at home with a presentation by the New Hampshire Beekeepers Association!
This program is drop-in and open to all.
How honed are your taste buds? Come to the library to sample a variety of teas and cheeses. With everyone a mystery and only a list of the different cheeses, will you be able to identify which cheese is which?
This program is drop-in and open to all ages. Bring the whole family along!
Do you have a child in middle school or early high school? Ever been curious about what the Blasidell Youth Group does, or what kind of activities the Middle School Club gets up to? Drop by our Teen Open House!
Try out new things, play some games, meet your fellow members, and share food and drink! All are welcome!
The library’s Arts and Music Week concludes with a special live performance by local musicians The Black Fly Band. Join us for a morning of music at this indoor, air-conditioned concert! Admission is totally free and light refreshments will be served. This event is open to all ages and all attendees, library patrons or not!
